Reserve your space here!

For this retreat we venture abroad to south western France to soak up the autumn sun in the Ariége region. Our venue is the luxurious Chateau St Michel which has recently been completely renovated by owner Donna and her partner. With the Pyrenees as backdrop, the 19th century chateau is situated in extensive one hundred acre grounds and has its own large private pool.

An inspiring place to relax and heal

We’re really excited to have found this place! Chateau St Michel has been painstakingly renovated to reflect a wonderful mixture of inspiration and architecture. All rooms are tastefully decorated, every detail has been considered for your comfort, enjoyment and above all, relaxation. Each of the luxury bedrooms has a well-equipped en-suite bathroom.

We may have the occasional meal out but most meals will be freshly prepared in-house. The focus is on delicious as well as healthy, with high quality ingredients, where possible organic and locally sourced. Enjoyment is good for us!

Nature nurture in the Ariége

It is tempting to just relax by the pool or in the peace and tranquillity of the extensive gardens within the estate. But the surrounding area has much to offer which you may want to explore – either with our group or on your own. There are also bikes you can borrow at the chateau. The village of St Lizier is a UNESCO world heritage site situated in the heart of the Ariége, a relatively undiscovered and blissfully unspoiled corner of south western France. On a hill above the River Salat just two kilometres north of Saint-Girons, it is listed as one of the ‘most beautiful villages in France’.

The nearest airport is Toulouse- Blagnac, just over an hour’s drive away from the chateau.

Food for the soul

It’s up to you how you want to spend your days, but we will have inspiring things lined up every day. Don’t worry…even if you want to enjoy all of them there’s still plenty free time to drift and unwind.

Hiking – walking allows us to really see, feel and smell the stunning environments. The group will venture out to explore the surrounding area. Walks average 1-3 hours.

Exploring the area – we’ll arrange minibus transport on at least one of the days to explore nearby places.

Yoga practice – yoga has helped us on our own journeys and the chateau is ideal for some joint practice – by the pool, in the garden or one of the bright and spacious communal areas.

Creative stuff – you don’t need to be an artist and even if you think you have no creative bone in your body we can guarantee that you’ll be enjoying some or all of the creative activities we’ve built into the break. Nature offers beautiful materials, and we’ll bring along others so you can create memory objects and more. We’ve quite a few tasty surprises in store for you to get your creative juices flowing.

Reflection and mindfulness – mindfulness is a kind way of being in the here and now. Mindfulness and living in the moment isn’t a complicated science but very simple, really. We’ll provide some tools and exercises, including guided meditations, to help you lean into this approach to living.
